Introduction to splitboarding with a snowboard instructor/guide

You are an avid snowboarder constantly looking for fresh snow and the best off-piste riding spots? Come and learn how to splitboard: this sliding sport combines touring skis and freeride snowboard in a single board. A professional mountain snowboarder will guide you step by step and in safety in order to move away from the slopes and off-piste areas.

Splitboard

Splitboarding and supervised outings in Savoie & Haute-Savoie

The practice of splitboarding or snowboard touring has become very popular in the space of a decade thanks to the evolution of the equipment and the very current image of a healthy practice close to nature. But this craze is also and above all due to the fact that snowboarding is a sliding sport definitively cut out for wide open spaces and fresh snow! Away from the classic freeride areas, outings supervised by an instructor/guide are an opportunity to ride safely in the mountains, to have fun and to learn how to use all the splitboard equipment.

Splitboarding equipment :

Although splitboard equipment is constantly evolving, there is one small thing to be regretted: current splitboards are mainly two-piece. 2 wide and "heavy" skis on the ascent which exclude certain hikes with a great difference in altitude or technical itineraries for the vast majority of skiers. Originally, the splitboard is a board in 3 parts, 2 real skis on the way up and a snowboard on the way down. Only a few brands of snowboards offer 3 or 4 parts, often handcrafted, the cost is higher. Luckily, with a classic 2 part board and a good physical condition there are many more accessible routes than you will be able to cover in a lifetime!
